Hoeller This does not require or demand, however, that a member of the OTG be a member of the Gnostic Church or even a Christian for that matter. As in so many fraternal orders, we only demand of our members that they have a belief in a Supreme Being. We do hold that Gnosticism is the most spiritually related faith to that of the Grail Mysteries and of Rosicruciansim. Members of the OTG of the first and second degrees should also be aware that one must attend Mass and take communion within one week prior to receiving the third (Knight or Dame) degree of our work. The Mass that the postulant attends could be Gnostic, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, etc. however a Gnostic Mass (at a recognized Gnostic Parish) would preferable for obvious symbolic reasons.
