During our Convocations, we celebrate a “Rite of Melchizadek” that we refer to as an “Agape”, it is not a Eucharistic Mass. The OTG is not a Church, however, or a substitute for a religious practice, but aims to function as a discipline complementary to that church or practice, especially that of The Gnostic Christian Churches.
Copies of the ritual are available to Visitors for their use at Convocations, and given to Commandery members. After the ritual 'opening', a short lecture is presented, a discussion follows, and then one of our Grail meditations (guided meditation) using imagery from the Grail literature, before the ritual 'closing'.
In the we are given a great diversity of visions of pageants and processions in which profound sanctity is experienced. These events, portrayed through legend and myth of the Grail Mass is perhaps as close as one may come to describing the higher realms, at least in mortal terminology. In our work, we have as a primary concern, the story of the Grail as a mystic quest of the soul for the eternal.
